At Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department, every member—whether they respond to emergencies or not—is trained and certified in CPR. This commitment ensures that lifesaving care can begin immediately in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
Early CPR and defibrillation are critical in improving survival rates, and Ridgely VFD is fully equipped with automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the station and on our apparatus. By maintaining regular CPR training, our members are always ready to act when seconds matter most.
Recently, this training proved vital when rapid CPR and the use of an AED saved a life in Ridgely. This real-world example underscores the importance of preparedness and the impact of early intervention.
Ridgely VFD remains dedicated to protecting and serving our community, and our ongoing CPR training is just one way we ensure we’re always ready to help.
Pictured here are a few of our non-response members refreshing their CPR skills in a class held on Sunday, January 26th.
